The publisher had a torrid time in 2017, effectively killing Need For Speed and Mass Effect, while the loot box controversy surrounding Star Wars: Battlefront 2 tanked its stock price. Whether EA learns from this for the future remains to be seen. Although EA and DICE eventually tweaked the game's mechanics, the end result is a game that is extremely disappointing. The game was heavily criticized upon release for its business model, with those not buying into the game's loot box system struggling to progress through the game thanks to its focus on microtransactions. Star Wars: Battlefront 2 has not had the greatest start to its life on the market. Since it's not locked behind a loot box, however, it's still a net positive. It only works in the Arcade mode, so there'll be no taking Matt the radar tech online, and of course it's only available for the PC version of the game. The mod itself, which can be seen in action at the top of this post, is a real laugh riot and adds a new dynamic to the game for those who want a bit of a lighter tone.
However, it's likely that at least some of those coming up against Matt the radar tech will be 90% sure he's Kylo Ren anyhow. The mod is a replacement skin for the Unmasked variant of Kylo Ren, giving players the chance to take down those Resistance fighters with something of an air of mystery. In 2016, Adam Driver reprised his role as Kylo Ren in a Saturday Night Live sketch framed around an episode of Undercover Boss set in the Star Wars universe. That's not always been the case for the character, though. In Star Wars: Battlefront 2, Kylo Ren is a playable character, with the intense villain of The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi proving to be a fearsome combatant in the multiplayer game.
